Started off heading for the Central train station with the plan of going to Lake Maggiore. But a late start after final night of Olympics put paid to that plan. After a long time in line got train tickets to Zermatt for next week and train tickets to Lake Maggiore to use whenever. The Central train station of Milan is huge 3 levels and incredibly crowded. There are 24 tracks.
Metro to Montenopoleone to visit Museo Poldi Pezzoli located on Manzoni. Here are located Armani, Valentino, Gucci and Versace. The museum has an incredible collection of paintings, clocks, ornaments of gold, medieval armour, muskets and sundry other items. I was struck by the velvet bannister on the way upstairs to the start of the collections.
Since we were not far from duomo and there is a Vodafone shop there we walked toward duomo and through the Galeria to Vodafone. Want to get an Italian sim card so data roaming will work while walking around with access to maps etc. will have to return as a passport is required to get a sim card. Sim card = 5€.
